| Summary | | The Distributed Generation Reliability Survey Tool (DGRST) was
developed as part of a larger project to record the data collected for an
assessment of the operational reliability and availability of selected
distributed power generation installations. The software was developed to
support the uniform collection and management of data and to develop reports on
facility or plant information, the generation history of a plant or of
individual generating units, and significant plant and equipment operating
events. This report contains relevant sections of the software users manual,
and it summarizes the database organization and functionality. DGRST uses a
Microsoft® Access database environment to speed up the collection of data and
to help maintain the data's accuracy and consistency. DGRST is user-friendly,
and it is designed for safe, accurate exchange of data in uniform formats.
Training materials used for training the data gatherers to use the software are
included in an appendix. Another large appendix lists more than 2,000
distributed generation system operators. This information was developed in the
early 1990s, under a previous GRI project. The DGRST software CD is available
for purchase separately (without the data) for use in similar types of
evaluations; see
GRI-03/0091.2. Although DGRST was
intended for use on a specific project, it can be modified as necessary to
support similar data-gathering and evaluation projects. |
