Dr. Jennifer Holmgren is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LanzaTech. Jennifer has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector including a proven track record in the development and commercialization of fuels and chemicals technologies. Prior to joining LanzaTech, she was Vice President and General Manager of the Renewable Energy and Chemicals business unit at UOP LLC, a Honeywell Company. In that role, she led UOP’s renewable business from its inception through to the achievement of significant revenues from the commercialization of multiple novel biofuels technologies.
Dr. Jennifer Holmgren holds a B.S. degree from Harvey Mudd College, a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She currently serves on multiple external advisory boards. She is the author or co-author of 50 US patents, 20 scientific publications and is the 2003 recipient of the Council for Chemical Research’s (CCR) Malcolm E. Pruitt Award.

Senior Energy Analyst, International Energy Agency, Renewable Energy Division
Adam Brown brings expert knowledge of sustainable energy acquired through more than 30 years of experience with planning, developing and managing government programs, and in consultancy assignments for public and private sector clients. After managing the UK Renewable Energy Program from 1993 to 1999, he became involved in establishing a private sector consultancy business, acting as project director of assignments with clients in the UK and overseas.
In his current role at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, Brown was one of the primary authors of: a major review of renewable energy policy (Deploying Renewables 2011: Best and Future Policy Practice); the IEA’s Technology Roadmap “Biofuels for Transport” (2011); the Roadmap “Bioenergy for Heat and Power” (2012); and a recently published paper on renewable heat, “Heating Without Global Warming.” He continues to work on renewables technology and policy issues, with current projects involving renewables policy effectiveness indicators, policy best practice, market and policy design, and an in-depth review of the prospects for bioenergy. Brown holds a Doctorate of Chemical Physics from Cambridge University, UK.
Managing Director, BTG Bioliquids BV
Gerhard Muggen is managing director and shareholder of BTG Bioliquids BV (BTG-BTL) and managing director of Empyro BV. As managing director he is responsible for the strategy of BTG-BTL and the worldwide marketing and sales. Gerhard has been working for Stork Thermeq for 8 years as Sales manager and the last four years as Vice President Marketing and Sales. In the last job he was responsible for the international marketing and sales department and directly involved in the marketing and sales in China, India and Russia. Gerhard was also responsible for organizing and initiating new developments and marketing new technologies. Besides his activities for BTG-BTL Gerhard gives lectures about export, business development and innovation and is Gerhard member of the jury of the Fenedex Export Manager Award.
