01/27/14 Des Plaines, IL
GTI is guided by our Public Interest Advisory Committee (PIAC), which provides insight on public and gas consumer interests. The PIAC is made up of public utility commissioners selected by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), consumer advocates, and environmental, economic, and university-based experts.
Recently, Lisa Edgar, the President of NARUC, appointed four new Commissioners to serve on GTI’s committee. They are The Honorable Diane Burman, Commissioner, New York Public Service Commission; The Honorable Paul Roberti, Commissioner, Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission; The Honorable Julie Brown, Commissioner, Florida Public Service Commission; and The Honorable Kara Brighton, Commissioner, Wyoming Public Service Commission.
Mr. Joseph Borowiec, Program Manager, Buildings R&D, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) joined the Committee as a member of a Federal/State R&D agency, to replace Peter Douglas of NYSERDA, who retired.
In related news, GTI PIAC member Kristie Fiegen was elected to serve Vice Chair of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (SD PUC) for a second round.
