GTI International Announces Acquisition of CDH Energy Corp.,
a Professional Services Firm Providing Energy System and
Technology Analysis

9/9/14 Des Plaines, IL

GTI International, a subsidiary of Gas Technology Institute (GTI), today announced it has acquired CDH Energy Corp. (CDH), a professional services firm specializing in monitoring and evaluating energy technologies related to building efficiency, combined heat and power (CHP), fuel cell, and solar power performance.

For over 20 years, CDH has offered field testing, deployment, monitoring, detailed analysis and reporting for emerging technologies, with a focus in distributed generation (DG) and CHP markets. CDH provides these services to public and private sector clients, including the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Headquartered in Cazenovia, NY (near Syracuse), the location will help GTI expand in a key region, building our presence and relationships. "We are very pleased to be adding the CDH Energy team to the GTI family. This addition will strengthen our capabilities and offerings in the growing energy efficiency space. CDH is a great fit with GTI's Emerging Technology Program (ETP) and subsidiary Fisher-Nickel. We'll leverage the capabilities, locations and relationships of these organizations to dramatically increase the services we can provide to our clients," says Ron Snedic, GTI International President and Vice President of Corporate Development at GTI.

CDH offers a wide array of energy efficiency services including third-party performance monitoring and reporting via a web interface—designing and implementing custom data acquisition systems or working within existing control systems to gather information. CDH develops and executes measurement and verification (M&V) plans for a variety of projects, from lighting and motors to industrial air compressors, supermarket refrigeration and HVAC upgrades. The firm also provides energy simulations on building systems and equipment.

"CDH will help GTI to expand their offerings by leveraging our powerful infrastructure and experience. We have an established, secure website interface and reporting tool that is currently capturing millions of data points from 300 sites every day. We have significant insight on building and equipment operation that can be used to assess performance and create energy savings verification plans," notes Hugh Henderson, CDH Energy Principal.

CDH aligns well with GTI's strategic growth plan and the acquisition is an important step in developing a robust program addressing the emerging technology and energy efficiency market. "This is a great opportunity for both GTI and our subsidiaries to increase value to our clients and have a greater impact on the market," adds Snedic.
