The Food Service Technology Center (FSTC) program is funded by California utility customers and administered by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

The FSTC is the industry leader in commercial kitchen energy efficiency and appliance performance testing and studies all the various energy-using systems in commercial kitchens. For over 25 years, the FSTC has offered seminars on energy-saving practices for the commercial foodservice customer. Seminars are free to California customers and cover such topics as specifying efficient equipment, commercial kitchen ventilation, sustainable practices, lighting, refrigeration, hot water systems, saving water and more.

The FSTC is operated by GTI subsidiary Frontier Energy. The commercial foodservice experts specialize in energy efficiency in the commercial kitchen and employs a diverse team of engineers, analysts, researchers and technicians with a shared passion for energy-efficiency and a desire to share their knowledge and further educate the commercial foodservice industry on the most innovative and cutting-edge technologies.
