Providing valuable insight on new research in thermochemical
GTI initiated the International Conference on Thermochemical Conversion Science (tcbiomass) series to present the latest research and innovations in the exciting field of bioenergy for the further deployment of clean energy technologies. The initial tcbiomass Conference was hosted in 2009 in Chicago, and received very positive feedback from over 250 attendees representing 22 countries. GTI organized and coordinated the event with co-sponsorships from other organizations including the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Canada, and IEA Bioenergy.
Based on the success of the first event, the 2011, 2013, and 2015 versions of tcbiomass grew substantially in the number of keynotes, presentations, posters, and attendees. The conference drews over 300 attendees from around the world, bringing together representatives from business and government to meet with experts in the biomass sector and share insights to accelerate progress towards renewable and sustainable energy goals. This premier forum for technology exchange will again take place in Chicago in 2017.
