GTI is working to develop a range of options for low, medium, and high-temperature heat recovery solutions for the industrial sector. GTI’s patented Transport Membrane Condenser (TMC) technology is a low-temperature heat and water recovery device that can boost fuel-to-steam efficiency to as high as 95% (on a higher heating value basis) when used with industrial and commercial boilers. The TMC is available from Cannon Boiler Works as part of their Ultramizer product.

GTI is also working with several partners and the U.S. Department of Energy on high-temperature heat recovery for steel manufacturing and other high-temperature industrial processes.

In addition, we’re demonstrating an innovative technology that converts waste heat in high-temperature (above 900°F) exhaust gases into electricity on an average-sized industrial furnace. Demonstration of the new system is taking place at Shultz Steel Company in South Gate, California, with funding from the California Energy Commission and SoCalGas.
