As energy efficiency programs, regulations, and markets mature, an emerging technology (ET) program can deliver a pipeline of new technologies and program solutions to enable utilities to meet tomorrow's energy efficiency goals with less risk and more certainty. An ET program is a key step to gain technical and market understanding on installation, performance, reliability, and serviceability considerations for new customer energy efficiency solutions.
Financial support for ET programs varies by state and company and remains somewhat limited. Some utilities are able to use a portion of their energy efficiency funds for piloting new and breakthrough technologies, equipment, and devices. In most cases, however, utilities simply do not have a dedicated funding stream to ensure the long-term health of their energy efficiency programs.
Learn how GTI can help you develop ET regulatory submissions, ET plans and implementation programs to meet your long-term energy efficiency goals.
